My dad said if you become a tennis professional just make sure you get into the top hundred, because you have to make a little bit of money.You have the babies, you have yourself and then you have your parents. ![]() Before, I guess, mum and dad were everything, but now, in my case, I had two new girls and all of a sudden they're completely dependent on you and there's a third generation.And yeah, I was almost shocked in the moment that it all came together so nicely. When I won in 2003, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would win Wimbledon and have my kids seeing me lift the trophy, so this is pretty surreal.I see that they, you know, respect me immensely, and I try to put on a good show and show that I can still play very good tennis. Today it's not a problem anymore actually, because now I enjoy it. And then I would get nervous if my friends came and watched. I used to get nervous, you know if my parents would come watch.Maybe you've already won so much that it evens it out a bit sometimes. But like I said, sometimes in sports it just goes the other way. I did all the right things in so many tournaments.So I used to always run around my backhand, you know, use my forehand as much as I could, and so that's why I think it's my strength also today, you know. not enough powerful to have a good serve when I was young, so my forehand was always my signature shot. The serve, I was too young and too small and.I always wanted to be honest with myself and to those who have had faith in me.Money will come if we seek first the Kingdom of God - the rest will be given. Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace.Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.This is where the respect and the love and the devotion come in - that we do it to God, to Christ, and that's why we try to do it as beautifully as possible. There is always the danger that we may just do the work for the sake of the work.Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it.Many people mistake our work for our vocation.Only in heaven will we see how much we owe to the poor for helping us to love God better because of them. Our life of poverty is as necessary as the work itself. ![]()
